Most of the crafty and creative activities I do are with my younger daughters. My son isn’t all that interested in “doing art” with us anymore. Not that he is not artistic mind you. He plays the guitar, piano, takes break dancing and hip-hop classes. He is a stilt walking, trapeze swinging, juggling on a drum, creative circus performer. But says, “I hate Art.” I think he means he dislikes formal art. Anyways, we have always nurtured our kids creative side. Encouraged them to try new things and persue their interests. To think outside the box and be individules.
Insert record scratching sound right about here!!!
Tuesday morning Jake removes his hood to show me this:

I was a bit taken aback-to say the least! Really it was more like, “What the @$**?” Not that I am against piercings. I have a nose ring and 4 holes in one of my ears, but not really into my 12 year old son getting one. Let alone doing it himself. Yes, I did say he did it himself. He pierced his own frozen ear with a safety pin he “steralized” by burning it first , after I went to bed Monday night. Can you say infection? Well, hopefully not. He has been cleaning it 3x’s a day. So much for encouraging all those creative ideas.

That’s it, we’re never doing art!
Oh, and hahahahahahahahaha! He just wants to be like his mommy.
(Wow, your pictures are really big!)
Thank you for having a son older than mine that we can use as an example in our lectures to Noah — we appreciate it!!
OH MY!!!! I come to check your page to find this!! I can’t believe Jake is old enough to start “rebelling” like this!! hahahahah… I think this is normal, right?
Wow Kristen! Great pictures! I love your blog, keep it coming. I think you need to blog about the various uses for breast milk! I’m still laughing!
This made me laugh out loud. Our son recently came home with a HUGE star tattoo under his left arm. This thing is so horrible. He said it represents him being a star some day…I’m sure this will be one he will regret later in life. I just happened to stumble upon your blog and love reading your post, looking at all of your craft ideas and photos. I have just began blogging myself I have a recipe blog and a family blog. I’m thinking I need to move over to wordpress after looking at your blog. Seems to have more bells and whistles. My family blog is phyllismunro.com, check it out if you get a chance. I will check back often, enjoyed reading this today!
