Time For Tubby Paint, Time For Tubby Paint

If it’s bath night at your house and your looking for a quick and easy paint for the bathtub, I’ve got one for you.
1 T cornstarch (I used waaayyyy more)
1/3 cup dish detergent (you may want to use something that won’t make your kidddies break out if they decide to paint their bodies. I used an eco friendly brand)
Food coloring

I of course doubled the recipe because 1 is never enough! But 2 was!! It was really too much but it can be saved and used later.
So mix it all together and continue to add cornstarch until desired consistency. Seperate into smaller containers or ice cube trays and mix food coloring in. Then let your kids make a huge mess in the tub and just rinse it away!! Or better yet you can always make a print of their work by laying a piece of paper over the fingerpaint! Have fun!

Pomagranate juice either mixed in sparkling mineral water or straight up over ice with some lime. Mmmmm!

    Hi !
    Thanks for this brilliant idea..I’m definitely going to try it. My little one loves making a mess, but the bath crayons are a total pain to wash off.

    My husband happened to be next to me when I showed him this entry and said “see…isn’t this a great idea” which prompted a converstation on how we are so not creative (although I’m changing that…I’m making a BIG effort this year!LOL) but how cool that there are freaky creative types out there I can either copy or get inspiration from.

    So I guess that is how I catagorize artsy types…”freaky creative types”

    I’m making some for my kid but I think I might want some for me too!LOL

    I really love the paints – but I’m wondering, does the food coloring stain at all? I’ve done a lot of projects with food coloring and had it stain my hands for a long time. I was curious about it staining the kids or the bathtub.

    Also, I love the decorated tiles in your tub. Did you make those? Did you make them and then add them to the tub?

    I’m just full of questions today!

    Thanks for posting this! We made cornstarch sidewalk paints the other day, but I LOVE this even more. I always love finding ways to make homemade versions of the cool crayola products cheaper, easier, and more eco friendly!

    Just an fyi, if you’re wondering if food coloring will stain, mine hasn’t. I’ve used it in just cornstarch and water (I think that’s called a suspension experiment, but my toddler doesn’t care what scientific principle it’s supposed to demonstrate, it just feels cool), and never had a problem with clean up. Our hands kept a bit of the blue color til bathtime, but that was it.

    I plan to do with VBS kids – I just tested it out using tear free kids’ body wash, and it worked great!
