Today was a nice blend of busy-ness and relaxation. This is usually not the case on holidays. Mostly it is me running around all day cooking, trying to keep the house picked up for company that will come for dinner and so on and so on…But today after a late big breakfast we had our egg hunt in our yard.

Ginger spent alot of time playing with her candy. Making up stories, counting it, sorting it and hiding it.

Jake and Molly each got a model rocket in their basket. Joe and Molly worked on putting hers together.
After dinner, dessert and my Mom leaving we went for a walk to the park and blasted off one of the rockets. The kids had a ton of fun trying to run and catch the ejected parachute. Our dog, Rudy, not so much. He was really nervous and glad to get back home and in our bed! So that’s where he is next to my husband who is next to Molly who is next Ginger who leaves me a sliver of bed to crawl into. I can’t wait to shimmy my way in!

Those rockets rock, don’t they? We set ours off over at the school and it ended up shooting sideways into the neighborhood. Omg, I was like, “We coulda KILLED somebody!”
They are amazingly fast. Good call to do it in the big park!

(BTW, I love that Ginger’s feet are poking into the frame in that last picture.)
