Extreme Makeovers

IMG_5738

Today when I walked down to the prairie there were at least 20 of these Goldfinches hanging off of the dead cone flower plants, picking the seeds off the tops of the flower heads.  They were so incredibly yellow, and shy.  Hence, the blurry photo.  I just couldn’t get a good shot. But thought I would share the best of the worst.

Molly cleaned out her stuffed animals.  She was parting with many but I took a few photos-could only get 1 to load- of a stuffed animal project our old homeschool co-op did last year.  This is fun with a group of kids or just 1 or 2.

We went to the thrift store and bought several stuffed animals.  Together we dismembered them and added the pieces to the pot in the middle.  Kids took turns choosing different parts and pieces and proceeded to give their stuffed animal body a new look!  They sewed different heads on or tails or arms and legs.

More evidence of Spring.  I’m afraid if I blink I might miss it!

The bird photo is still good, despite being blurred, it adds a dreamy affect to it. :)

I like the blurry photo. Very impressionistic. You might mess around with it in Photoshop and add to the painterly effect, for fun.

I can’t wrap my brain around the pic of the whoozits in the middle.

Good morning! I love the pic of the gold finches. Yes. I remember the stuffed creatures feature at our home school co-op. Fun times. We just went through the stuffed animal bin at our house and it was a hoot. They were so attatched to these things that they NEVER play with and NEVER sleep with. They couldn’t get rid of them! LOL! So, once youngest was in tears telling me how one little puppy had been through everything with h im, I was putting all the stuffed animals back in the bin and telling them with tears in my own eyes, “We are just NOT getting rid of a single thing. You just keep whatever you want.” So, there they sit in a corner. Still. I’m such a softy. Hopefully you had better luck.

You are very talented! I haven’t been to your blog in a few days and was pleased to have so much to catch up on. Were those 2 ducks down on the trail? They look very familiar :)

Great idea for the soft toys….though I’m weird and would think it might hurt them chopping them up, lol.
Love that last pic.

I have been enjoying your blog for a while now and I must say that those pieced stuffed animals are one of the most delightful and hilarious creations I have seen in quite some time. Thanks for sharing and all the great ideas.
