This morning Ginger and I went for a long walk and picked lots of flowers on our way.  When we got home we tried to make prints with some of the flowers and leaves.  I remember seeing this a long time ago using ferns and a cotton tablecloth and have wanted to try it ever since.  I was not too impressed with our results but the kids enjoyed the pounding and the trial and error of the project.

So first we gathered many different types of flowers.  Then we placed a white piece of paper on a pile of newspapers.  Next place some flowers on the paper.

Cover with another piece of white paper and pound with a rubber mallet or hammer.

Next we came back in and I dug out as many vases as I could find so the girls could make flower arrangements.   They really enjoyed this!

My kitchen looked like a jungle.

This one was Molly’s favorite.IMG_8580

We filled our nature table and spread them around the house.

Beautiful. I am sure this was a lot of fun. We don’t have quite so many flowers available for picking yet here in Maine.
