Painted Sticks and Trash Can

IMG_9669 IMG_9740

This week Unplug your kids projects are all about paint.  I tried to think of something more exciting than just getting the paint out and painting on paper.  So I decided to have the kids paint our garbage can.

Earlier in the day while checking out The Crafty Crow we clicked on the tutorial for painted sticks.  I figured as long as we have the acrylic paints out we might as well paints some sticks for our yard too!

We haven’t decided where we will put these yet-but I like the idea of brightening up the shade!

  1. Those sticks are lovely! And painting the boring green trash can is sheer genius. We have the same boring green trash can. Now every time I look at it, I will see your cheerful one in its place. This means we’ll have to paint ours too. Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. Thank You Pinterest for sending me your way!
We recently moved to the mountainous desert and hiking is on our list of weekend activities. Now I will be on the search for sticks for the kids to paint to get them in the mood to hike (hopefully with less complaining) My only question is, has the city said anything about the painted trash cans? Is it allowed?
