It’s HOT! Thank the good one above that there is a breeze or I really would melt. I love summer weather but 92 degrees in the first week of June is a bit much, even for me! I’m sure it would be so much nicer if I turned the AC on but it’s too early in the summer, I’m too cheap and it’s bad for the environment. So here I sit on the computer under the ceiling fan, not willing to move to cook dinner! Lucky for us we are invited to a graduation party, where I am sure the A/C will be crankin’ and there will be food to eat. But if you are not so lucky and have to prepare dinner for your brood here are 2 raw recipes that are so tasty!
Recipe #1—Seedy Broccoli Salad
I am not one to measure so go easy on the amounts and you can always add more.
1 Head of Broccoli raw, chopped up, lots of cherry tomatoes, Extra Virgin Olive Oil-lots, sea salt (I have recently discovered Redmond all natural ancient real salt mmmm), hemp seeds, couple of cloves minced garlic, lots of nutritional yeast.
It gets better with age!
Next is a Raw Slaw
1 package of broccoli slaw ( or reg slaw), cut up green apple, raisins, dried cranberries, extra virgin olive oil, raw cider vinegar, sea salt, couple of green onions, cinnamon, a teaspoon of grated ginger, agave or honey.
Both are good travelers and last awhile in the fridge.
Have a good weekend!

both of those look AMAZING! i have brocolli in my csa this week, so will try them out, thanks and happy weekend!
Sounds so yummy! I just made a big bowl of broccoli sald like Lynne makes and it is already all gone. I love these type of salads. I already have the AC crankin, I love summer but have to take the heat in doses.
Great blog!! I hope you don’t mind that I linked your pretzel entry onto my blog. They were delicous and these recipes look equally as good!! I will keep coming back to check in on your activities.
Thanks FRANNYKATE!!
