4th of July Fun

I really wanted to make a flicker flash badge and post it in this spot but apparently wordpress won’t let me-so this is my homemade version with out the cool flashness!

Yesterday was a  very s l o w day.  My kids had post party meltdowns, all three of them-they are so sad that is all over until next year.   My Mom came for dinner so we BBQ’d and ate cake under the big top again.  Today the tent will come down, the tables and chairs all put away,  and it will look quiet and once more.   Note that I said “look” quiet-we are not really a quiet bunch.

Today I also get to drop my fair entry off.  One of my photos made it into the Ohio State Fair fine arts exhibit.  I am sooo dang proud.  I remember walking through the exhibit the last few years really wishing to participate.  Last year I made a verbal commitment to Joe to enter.  And I am so glad I did.  I know I posted a while back about encouragement from friends, and I just wanted to thank Abby again for encouraging me!!

My big kids will be at circus camp for the next week-Jake the next 2-so the crafty posts may be sparse.  Ginger is my easy going gal so I plan to  drag her round on some early morning photo adventures this week.

  1. We had so much fun at the party, Kristen. You guys really do a great job. Thanks again!

And here’s a big woohoo for making it into the fair:
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! We’re so proud of you. :)

  2. Looks like the perfect Fourth of July–no wonder the kids are disappointed it’s over! Congrats on your photo making it to the Ohio State Fair. I’ve been twice (my mom lives in Columbus, I’m from New York) but alas, won’t be there this year. Or you can bet I’d look for your picture. I hope you win a blue ribbon!

  3. Gratz on the fair entry, Kristen! w00t! Maybe I’ll see ya there!

  4. I think I’m still worn out from your party — sheesh! BTW, I need to get with you about taking pictures for that Columbus Parent article. Remind me to do that!

  5. The photos are great…

Congratulations to one of your photos being displayed in the exhibit, you’re a fantastic photographer :-)

  6. Oh congrats!!! How exciting! Which pic? Is it a competition? Prizes? Awesome!

Thanks for a wonderful party! Now I will have to go to the fair, LOL, I never go.

  8. Hay—The photo that made it in was the one of Ginger and her fiends feet. It is somewhat of a competion-at least for the top few spots, which I don’t plan on making and yes they are giving lots of money away! This is the first time I have ever entered anything anywhere, so I am really excitied.

  9. Well kudos to you for putting it out there! Good luck, let me know how you go!
