Appliance Box Mansion

IMG_0966

Like I do every summer for the past 10 years or so, may have skipped a year or two in there,  I called our local appliance store and asked if they had many boxes in the recycling .  I folded all the seats down and loaded up my van with all the boxes they had-10.

After unloading them and trying to match up the bottom pieces to the  various size boxes we dragged them into place.  We stood them up and I poked holes through the boxes and pipecleanered them together.  Cutting doors and windows in some of the boxes.

Did I hear you say you wanted a tour…Sure!

That’s the hall way.  First left is Molly’s room.

And of course there is a potty!!!

Oh! My! Wow! That is beyond awesome. How long does this last? Is it all mushy after one rain? Might have to try something like this, what a great idea!

Cool! Have you heard of Mr McGroovy’s box rivets? They make this kind of project really easy and can be used again and again. They have a refrigerator box castle plan on the site too…

This is a FANTASTIC idea!! I am going to call the store next week… this would be a perfect activity for the last week of summer… my kids will LOVE it! Thanks for the inspiration. :-)

I am thinking I will have to do this when my darling granddaughter is a little older. You are such a cool mom.

Oh, I am SO going to have to call my local appliance store. I NEVER thought of doing that!

Love this idea! This post would be a perfect one to link up to “Twice the Fun Tuesday” at my site havingfunathomeblog.blogspot.com.

Twice the Fun is a weekly mr. linky about creative recycling that will start next Tuesday (Oct 14.) It would be great to see your post there!
