Thursday’s Quarter Recipe

It’s been a whole week??  I really am in a blogging slump.

A few months ago we watched “Go Further” with Woody Harrelson.  It was a funny little movie with a green message.  He ate raw food while on a bike tour and I had a link with a recipe for Painted Fruit, book marked for a long time. A few weeks ago I wrote the recipe down and last week I finally made it.  But unfortunately the link is no good this week. Damn I wish I would have written all the recipes down!

I really like this dip but I must warn you that it seems to be an acquired taste.  It really does taste better than it looks too!!

It tastes like a really sweet nut butter..at least that’s what it tasted like to me!

Mix together 1 heaping T Almond butter, 1 heaping T tahini, 1 T maple syrup, 1 T hempseeds

With a fork stir in 3 heaping T spirulina powder  When thick stir in up to 1 cup OJ or apple juice and 2  T lemon juice.

We cut up apples fresh from our neighbors tree and some bananas for dipping.  I suggest starting off with less spirulina and add more to taste, especially if you are not  a spirulina regular.

I think I will make some more tomorrow!

  1. Looks interesting….what is the texture like? I am hopeless with grainy or lumpy texture. Must have a look at that movie.

It’s just like peanut butter. Not really grainy..but thick. The color is a bit off putting! But it is tasty.

  3. Check out this link has the Painted Fruit Recipe and more on Woody’s Site:
