Come On In!
The other day I left a comment on American Family‘s blog in response to her question; How clean is your house. Really it’s not dirty-but it is usually pretty messy. There are four of us home almost all the time. We live in every room of our house. Not like when I was growing up and we only used the kitchen, the den and our bedrooms and bathrooms. The rest of the house had vacuum marks in the carpet and were pretty much for show or holiday use. I think that would be way to hard to enforce! As well as not very practical for our life style. And we have a lot of stuff!!
Last night’s episode of John and Kate plus 8 was them moving into their new house. I know I have posted before that I am not a fan of Kate, ( I think they really need me to come and do arts and crafts and messy projects with their hands on, deprived kids!!) and last nights episode sealed that deal. Upon showing her 8 young children her new bedroom she informed them that that would be the last time they would ever enter that room John and Kate’s bedroom would be for them only and no kids would be allowed in. They could stand at the door and knock and talk to them from the door way but they were never to come in. Hmmm, wrong on so many levels!!!!!!!!!
Even though I do tell my kids to keep their toys out of my bedroom, they are certainly welcome in there almost any time (Almost). Ginger still sleeps with us most nights and there is a TV in there-so it is a cozy place to hang out. Stuffed animals, dolls, dvd’s and clothes are often left behind. Pillows and blankets are all over the floor as well as books and magazines. Yeah, our house definitely has a lived in comfy feel to it!
Today I was reading Blue Yonder and lo and behold she too was posting about her housekeeping tendencies. Well, I snapped this picture yesterday of Rudy laying on the remnants of our Candyland LIVE game and thought it is a perfect testimony of my housekeeping! In process, never ending, almost finished, getting started…….
I really like the way this one looks like a crime scene! Note the little sock lying on the floor too!
Now if you all were coming over I would pick up and vacume…but if you show up unannounced, well, you never know how you might find the place!

And for real???? We don’t have cable/satellite, so I’ve never seen John and Kate, but I’ve hear of them. Kids not allowed to come in the room? I can’t fathom how I’d keep mine out, even if I wanted to, which I do not.
Weird.
