25 Random Things

Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish. If you do not have a Notes tab on your Profile page – you can create one by clicking on the + tab. It will let you choose Notes and will create a tab for you. It takes one/tenth of a second.)

OK, I guess it’s my turn. Everybody’s  doing it. I have been tagged more than once, and I have nothing else to blog about….so here goes! Oh and now if there is anyone else who hasn’t done this meme yet , I tag you.

1. It is my dream to live off the grid, in a house that I build myself. It is NOT my husbands dream. He is OK with us living separately later in life. Hmmm.

2. I love all things nutrition and health related. I truly believe you make or break your health by what you eat.

3. I am so awed by how resilient our bodies are.

4. I am easily distracted.

5. I am not a very ambitious person.  I am happy with my life of leisure. Really, it could be so much tougher. So why does it drive me sooooo crazy that my son is that way too?

6. I love extremes-tons of snow, hot, sunny days.

7. My green smoothies taste like cellulose.

8. Thinking about this makes me think I am a boring person and I should, I don’t know do something exciting.

9. I like to read books-but I can only read if I am doing something else or have no choice but to sit and read to pass the time. It is too passive for me-likewise for the TV. So my computer sits on top of the buffet in the dinning room or on the kitchen counter so I can stand while reading email and blogs.

10. I am a very impatient person. VERY

11. I am pretty sure I have surpassed the time frame indicated by the word extended-in extended breastfeeding for my kids. Is the TMI? Too bad-it’s good for everyone!

12. I am a breastfeeding advocate…zealot really.

13. I am uncomfortable with all these “I statements”

14. 25 random things is alot.

15. I am deathly afraid of dying.

16. When I was young, my dream was to play baseball for the Cleveland Indians.

17. I think there is something much bigger “out there.” Like the way we watch ants work, they are watching us drive and fly.

18. I hate for my food to touch.

19. I eat one thing at a  time and when that is finished, I go on to something else on my plate.

20. Growing up my Dad smoked cigars, in the winter, all the time, with the windows rolled up. And he used to drive me to school. When I would open the doors of that old red station wagon, smoke would pour out like I had been rideing with Spiccoli.

21. I smoked a pack a day of Marlboro reds for many, many years. Now I HATE the smell of smoke. But miss the act of smoking and the socialness of it.

22. I hate seeing loose teeth.

23. It’s all about accessories baby….and condiments.

24. If I won the lottery I would travel the world several times over. An eternal vacation.

25. I feel like #25 should be a good one….hmmmm…thinking……I LOVE my friends. I hang out with them anytime I can or talk to them on the phone. They have become family. We even fantisized about buying a large plot of land with a lake  and each of us having a house with a few acres and in the middle a mess hall. Sounds good to me!!

  1. I feel like this list makes you sound more rigid than you are because you are also very reasonable about even the things you feel strongly about. I think you’re very good at achieving balance in a lot of your life.

  2. I love picturing you getting out of your dad’s smoke-filled station wagon. That’s awesome.
#25 will happen someday, dammit. I’m tired of this 2 miles away business. Very inconvenient.

  3. Hey, that was great! I loved reading your 25 things. Can you believe I *just* did this on facebook. Mine wasn’t nearly as witty though.

  4. I CANNOT imagine you smoking! #1 was so Janine and me for years. She said she’d be happy to join me, but had no interest in doing any of the work. Then about 2 years ago I read a book called something like “return from the land” by a bunch of women who built homes and lived off grid in the 70s and how most of them left that lifestyle. It made me feel I could let go of the dream, and now with all the kids and jobs I’m happy to come home to my microwave!

  5. wait, more than you ever wanted to know about me… I did live off grid in 3 different houses in new mexico when I was a teenager and I loved it, but then it was just me, now one to take care of, no where to go but high school. We even bathed outside in a cedar hottub in the snow.
