Tie One On-A Belt That Is!

DSC_1303

Molly was born to sew! She loves to make and repair things.  So this weeks unplugged theme of CLOTHING had Molly  really excited with  lots of ideas of things to make, but I really didn’t want to spend any money.  So she was limited to using the material scraps and supplies we had around here. Lucky for Molly, her dad isn’t a tie guy, but has a closet full of them.

She decided to make belts out of some of her Dad’s old neck ties. Each belt uses 2 ties. Use a measuring tape or ruler to find the spot where your tie widens to 2 inches and mark that spot on both ties.

Then carefully cut both ties at that mark.

Match up the cut ends and pin them together. Then sew them together.

Next-tie your belt on!

Cute!! You can add charms or buttons or bells to the ends too if you want.

Hey, can I send Mollie over some fabric? I am still purging, don’t think I am going to be sewing anytime soon. Just gave Sammie all of my paint, would love to pass some fabirc on to Mollie. I can have Tom run it by one day soon. I’ll take no answer as a yes, LOLOL
